Australian police recover some incredibly cute contraband during a traffic stop.
Police arrested a 50-year-old woman on Nov.
6 and asked her if she had anything they needed to know about.
She told them she had a baby koala inside her bag.
A Queensland Police Service statement reads: "Not quite believing their ears, the officers cautiously unzipped the bag and found this gorgeous boy.
" They've since named him Alfred.
He reportedly weighs just over 3 pounds.
Alfred is believed to be about 6 months old and is healthy, albeit a bit dehydrated.
Police say the woman told them that she found the koala the night before and was caring for him.
The police turned Alfred over to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Queensland police are now reminding the public that koalas are wild animals and, if found, should be reported to wildlife authorities.
